Reflections of the A to Z Blogging Challenge

As part of the A to Z Blogging Challenge, they have asked that we do a 'Reflections' post to follow up after the challenge has ended.

First, I have to say, I was extremely excited to participate in this challenge. I had already been toying with the idea of an A to Z themed month, and being presented with the challenge was a perfect fit.

Although, the waiting for the month of April to actually start made me just a little bit crazy with Anticipation!

Let's recap the posts from the A to Z Challenge:

Y is for... Yazoo

Z is for... ZZ Top

April turned out to be a great month, didn't it? I know I teased the hosts of the A to Z Challenge by asking that we do this every six months instead of annually, but in retrospect the timing would interfere with my special Rocktober theme that takes place every October.

I'm a little sad the official challenge has ended, but this gives me a new challenge - continuing to find good stories about the various musicians and songs that are out there.

Ways the A to Z Challenge could improve?

Keeping in mind this is the first A to Z Challenge that I have participated in, I would have to say that the twitter chat, while in theory is a good idea, but in reality, it just clogs up newsfeeds - besides, I could never remember exactly when they were being held. So I think the twitter chat #AZChat should just be eliminated.

I do think, however, that a daily or weekly email throughout the challenge would help keep those who are struggling with the challenge focused and motivated.

I loved having our own little hashtag #AtoZChallenge - I don't recall seeing the hashtag trend, but perhaps next year it will. It was great discovering other blogs, especially those that are in thie particular niche, and it was especially interesting and fun seeing what each of those blogs came up with for each letter.

I am most definitely looking forward to next year's challenge (and I may or may not have already begun to prepare my posts for it!)

What does tomorrow bring?
