Time for Round #13 of Battle of the Bands!

Here’s how it works: I’ll be posting two versions of the same song and after you give a listen to each, place your vote for your favorite and reason for the way you voted in the comments section. I’ll tally the votes and post the results in another post 6 days later. The Battles take place on the 1st and 15th of each month, and the results will be posted on or around the 7th and 21st.  The other blogs participating in the Battle of the Bands are posting different battles (different songs), So once you’re done voting and commenting on my battle, take a moment to visit the other participants and vote & comment on their battles.  There are some really good battles going on!

I’m posting this a day early, as the 1st falls on a day that I don’t typically post.

About Michelle:
I am a happily single co-parent mom, raising two boys with special needs. My oldest has Autism and my youngest has ADHD. I am also in recovery from PTSD. While my blog focuses mostly on raising children with special needs while dealing with my own issues, I write about various interests such as Music, Fitness, my own spirituality, and any other random thoughts that invade my complicated brain. Having recently left my job, I am a new blogger who is also looking to eventually get my own fiction writing out to the public but for now I am feeling my way through the blogging world trying to figure out what my next career move should be. I am honored to be a guest blogger on the Jingle Jangle Jungle blog. If you like my posts, feel free to visit my blog at http://www.rockinrandommom.com

ACDC: Back In Black

"Back in Black" is a song by AC/DC, appearing as the first track on side two of their 1980 album of the same name. Known for its opening guitar riff, the song was AC/DC's tribute to their former singer Bon Scott. His replacement Brian Johnson recalled to Mojo magazine in 2009 that when the band asked him to write a lyric for this song, "they said, 'it can't be morbid – it has to be for Bon and it has to be a celebration.'" He added: "I thought, 'Well no pressure there, then' (laughs). I just wrote what came into my head, which at the time seemed like mumbo, jumbo. 'Nine lives. Cats eyes. Abusing every one of them and running wild.' The boys got it though. They saw Bon's life in that lyric."

Annie Lynn, Chris Arms & Friends

Annie Lynn, President of AnnieBirdd Music, LLC, began writing songs when she was 14 years old, while acting in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” with the Germantown Theater Guild in Philadelphia. Asked to write “a nature song” by the show’s director, Annie wrote “Listen,” and the song and the show were subsequently filmed and shown on CBS. “I remember being this excited 14 year old kid, so psyched that the first song I had ever written was on TV,” Annie reflects now. “If someone had told me that 30 years later, I’d be recording that song with my own child, I would have laughed! Now I have whole communities of school-aged children singing my own choruses back at me, and it really is a great feeling….”
