#FridayFive Get Your Groove On

It's Friday and it's time to get our groove on! Feeling Funky today!

Funk is a music genre that originated in the mid-to late 1960s when African American musicians created a rhythmic, dance-able new form of music through a mixture of soul music, jazz, and rhythm and blues (R&B). Funk De-emphasizes melody and harmony and brings a strong rhythmic groove of electric bass and drums to the foreground.

Not much to say here, other than get down and enjoy the funk!

Earth Wind & Fire - Let's Groove

Sly and the Family Stone - Thank You (Falletinme Be Mice Elf Agin)

  1. ♫I Feel Good♫ That song always makes me smile. Funk in general is a real "feel good" genre. Another enjoyable post, Mary! Thanks for the mood lifter.

  2. Though I wouldn't list "Get Down on It" as an absolute favorite song, I would name Kool and the Gang as one of my favorite groups.
