#4M + #BOTB Results

Today’s post is part of the Monday’s Music Moves Me blog hop, hosted by X-Mas Dolly, and co-hosted by Callie of JAmerican Spice, Stacy of Stacy Uncorked and Cathy from Curious as a Cathy

Before we get started with today's music, let's go over the Battle of the Bands Results.

The song was 'Happy Together', and we had three contenders.  This was such a tight race. Very difficult to predict a winner early-on. This three-legged race was neck and neck from the very beginning to the very end - And I do believe that this is the first time in our BOTB history that we have had these kind of results. You, my friends and readers, made this happen!  It was a very good battle, in my opinion.

The final results:

Flobots with 5 votes
Hugo Montenegro with 5 votes
The Nylons with 5 votes

That's right, folks - we have a three-way tie!

Thank you everyone for stopping by to cast your vote! We'll have a new round of battles on June 1st, with new songs and new contenders.

Now onto today's regular post:

Today’s theme is ‘FREEBIE’

That means there really is no theme for the day. I picked out a few tunes to help you get your week started off right.

Melanie - Brand New Key
Harry Chapin - Cats In the Cradle
Otis Redding - Try a Little Tenderness
Incubus - Drive
Bruno Mars - That’s What I Like

These should keep you rockin’ for a little bit. Be sure to stop by the other participants in Monday’s Music Moves Me. (You can find a list HERE)

  2. Mary,

What a bummer - a three way tie! That's really quite incredible. Should I demand a recount? lol Oh, "Brand New Key" is just one of those fun, catchy tunes and this is going to be stuck in my head today. :) I love all the rest of the songs on your playlist. I may have to consider creating my own playlists on YouTube. Is this hard to do? I haven't tried doing it. Thanks for hitting the dance floor with the 4M crew, my friend and have tunetastic week!

    1. Hi Cathy

I think the three-way tie is pretty exciting! Sorry to hear Marie is not feeling well. Playlists are not hard at all to do on YouTube. I used to just provide a link to the playlist and post the individual videos, but thought I'd switch it up a bit.

  3. Three way tie is kind of amazing. But I guess that goes to show the varied tastes of the voters who visited this Battle.

The Three Way tie makes me feel a lot better about using the three contenders that I was having a hard time deciding on. I think each one was just different enough to give them their own style.

It's a great lead in for the June 1 battle! That one is going to be pretty special as well. I've got a few good posts coming in the meantime to help tide us all over until then.

    1. I know, right?!? I knew there was a reason I was having a hard time deciding which contenders to use. My gut instinct at the very end said to go with three, and I'm really happy that I did. If memory serves me correct, the Incubus tune was one of there earliest hits, if not their first. I've always liked it. Thanks for dropping by, Debbie!

I tried to come up with a few songs that would get us all moving, some good motivation to get the week started right! I'm really tickled about the 3 way tie. As of yesterday, it was only a 2 way tie, but Mike swooped in at the last minute and his vote turned it into a three way.
