I have a few in mind, I just need to narrow it down. I seem to be having the problem quite a bit lately. Still working on the decision about what to post for tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping by! Go Eagles (or as they say in Philly... I had a friend that was super into the Doors and it seemed like we listened to them all the time, but it probably wasn't more than a season in reality. I remember listening to them a lot of the time when we were shut in due to the harsh Buffalo winter weather and the crappy cold rainy days. I find that I often associate Doors music with dark and dreary and some of that probably has to do with the weather association but a lot of it has to do with Jim Morrison himself: I read his biography (No One Here Gets Out Alive) and a bunch of his poetry so there was plenty of darkness there. My very favorite Doors song is Riders on the Storm and I love the dark feeling that it evokes. I always wish it were dark and rainy when that song comes on. It just needs to be dark and rainy for that song so in my head it's dark and rainy when I hear it because it hardly ever rains in Austin Texas! (I sure miss that dreary weather from up north!)...

Anyway, I'm giving my vote to Lou Gramm. I really liked his version of Love Me Two Times. GREAT song pick for this battle.

Go Eagles!

Michele at Angels Bark Michele at Angels Bark https://www.blogger.com/profile/15891713963440451090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8221369581989798825.post-69510576116114196652018-02-02T12:22:37.971-05:002018-02-02T12:22:37.971-05:00MMQE, sadly, I was not shown in the dream who the ...MMQE, sadly, I was not shown in the dream who the winner of the Super Bowl game would be. "DON'T STEAL MY SONG CHOICE!&...>>... "DON'T STEAL MY SONG CHOICE!"

Whew! That was a close call, MARY! I very nearly used this song in my 'Battle Of The Bands' installment today. I had it scheduled to post automatically and everything. But last night I had a dream that warned me to choose a different song, and so first thing this morning, I changed my post entirely and went with 'HARLEM NOCTURNE' instead.

That was a close call! Thank God for prophetic dreams, eh?

Nah. I'm just kidding. ...Actually, last night I dreamed I'd gone to a fancy, glittery pink bar to see the first game in the Super Bowl series. (Yeah, in the dream, the Super Bowl was a series of championship games, like the World Series.) And some strange guy stole my cell phone off the bar but then returned it due to a guilty conscience. And I overpaid the waitress by four dimes, and she insisted I take them back, even though I told her to keep them.

And some drunk was passed out, sitting on the floor, so a waiter with a club in his hand poured a whole pitcher of water over the drunk's head, and after about 10 seconds he started to come to, just as some other bar customer told the waiter he should hit the guy on the head with his club.

I then decided to find a different bar to watch the first game of the Super Bowl series, and as I was leaving with my dog walking beside me, a waitress wearing a white bikini top bent over to pick something up, and I glanced over to try to get a look down her top but it was too dark down there to see anything. So my dog and I continued walking toward the front door, and that's when I woke up: 6:57 A.M.

Uhm... was that TMDI? Ha! (Translation: Too Much Dream Information? Ha!)

Oh, was I supposed to write something about this Battle?

Let's see...

Joan Jett? Miss Joan "Not-An-Original-Musical-Bone/Thought-In-Her-Body" Jett? Nah. Make mine a double of LOU GRAMM on the rocks with a lemon twist. He really did something different with the song, and I dug it. Very Bluesy. He even sounds like Howlin' Wolf in places and, Mary, you know I loves me some Howlin' Wolf!

Hokey-Smoke! I can't believe that was Lou Gramm! I listened twice just for the pleasure of it. That was some wolfy sounding guttural stuffs. Lou Gramm? Are you SURE?! I thought I hated Lou Gramm. Well, I guess I'll have to sleep on this turn of events. I did not know your song choice. The Doors ...Mary,

I did not know your song choice. The Doors is one of those bands I really do not know a lot about despite their popularity and years as a group. Although, I know Jim Morrison by name I didn't know (or maybe I forgot) that he was the founding vocalist (1965). Anywho, of the two covers I found I enjoyed the more bluesy rendition of contender 2. So give my vote to Lou Gramm! Gr8 showdown, my friend!

Curious as a Cathy presents Falling Slowly BoTBCathy Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01056276734145310231noreply@blogger.com
