Joseph here, and I’m back with another Six Degrees! One of the requests made for a Six Degrees post was to link an artist from the 60s to a current artist of today. Now, that request was quite open-ended because no artists were actually specified. To make the task easier, I had to work backward in time. The list is presented from oldest to latest, sorta.

Hey gang, it’s Joseph, yet again, presenting another Friday Five. This time, we’re going to cover the Monkees throughout the decades. Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork, and Davy Jones were the founding members.

Happy Turkey Day! This is our tribute to the phenomenon known as “No Shave November.” The idea is to showcase those who generally don’t shave (or are known for not shaving.)

Just Joseph bringing you yet another Friday Five. Recently, Mary did a Friday Five covering drummers. Now, everyone has their own Top Five or Top Ten List of various things. Mary mentioned that I should cover bassists (because I am a bass player). Well, I thought about a Top Five List, but, like I said, everyone has one of those, and I tend to think differently. So I decided that I would do a list of underrated bassists, instead.

Yet another blog post by the “Partner In Crime:” Sometimes, you just get songs stuck in your head. We call them “earworms” here in the United States. One of them for me as of late, is “Talking In Your Sleep,” by The Romantics.

Time again for the #FridayFive     Today we're going to show a little love to the drummers. While these guys don't always get the light shown on them, they are an important part of a band.  The primary function of the drummer is to "keep time" or provide a steady tempo and rhythmic foundation. However, in other musical styles, such as world, jazz, classical, and electronica, the function of a drummer is often shifted from "time keeper" to soloist, whereby the main melody becomes the rhythmic development generated by the drummer or percussionist.

The Battles take place on or around the 1st and 15th of each month, and the results will be posted on or around the 7th and 21st. As I only post Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays, the posting date will be closest to those dates as possible. The other blogs participating in the Battle of the Bands are posting different battles (different songs), So once you’re done voting and commenting on my battle, take a moment to visit the other participants and vote & comment on their battles.  There are some really good battles going on!

Going back into time here. 1983 to be exact. It was a time of youth and lots of big hair. It was also the year I graduated high school.
