Song Lyric Sunday: PLAN

Time for Song Lyric Sunday!  I’m really liking this fun challenge!

The Idea was formed by Helen @ This Thing Called Life One Word At A Time. She has presented us with the word prompt of PLAN for this week.

I really enjoyed this challenge, as it really make me put on my thinking cap and with the help of google, I was able to come up with a plan for this challenge (see what I did there?)

Wikipedia tells us this about the song:

Nothing! *gasp*

BUT,  it does tell us about the album the song is from, also titled PLAN B

Plan B is the eighth album by American rock band Huey Lewis and the News, released in 2001.
This was the last album to feature founding member/guitarist Chris Hayes, who performed on the album but then left after work was completed. Hayes was replaced by Oakland-born guitarist Stef Burns (Alice Cooper, Vasco Rossi, Pablo Cruise, Y&T). It was also the last News album for Ron Stallings, who died in 2009.

The song Plan B is track 7 on this album.

"Plan B"

Wasn't forever the word you used?
Always together, you said we can't lose
Picture of a minister, bells and lace
And all of the relatives in one place
And then right in the middle of the party
You want to change your mind
Well it's time for me to wake up to reality
Plan B

I should have known better, a girl so fine
They tell me it happens all the time
Nothing but trouble tip to toe
And tons of attention everywhere you go
Well, you're the kind of girl that
Makes a little dog break a big chain
There's only one option that's left for me
Plan B

I guess it was too good to b true
All that devotion and attitude
But you found somebody you had missed
And that was the one thing that you can't resist
So you tell me that you love me
Then you kick me out in the street
Well, it's time for me to face up to reality
Plan B

The rules for playing along:

  • Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
  • Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
  • Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
  • Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
  • Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
  • Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process

Join in the fun! If not this week, why not next?

What other songs can you think of that would be perfect for this challenge? Tell me about them in the comments below.

  1. I almost wish I hadn't missed this one, but then again....I'm not sure I even know of any songs with the word "plan" in the title! (Unless the theme was plan, and the word didn't necessarily have to be in the title - you know, like in an abstract way such as "Goodbye Earl" or "Used to Love Her". Maybe next time! But I plan to hit the MMMM dance floor if I can get to the links before I fall asleep!

    1. I do believe you can be abstract on this one - as Helen is usually pretty abstract in her posts. Hopefully you were able to grab the 4M link code as it's a good one this week (I'm not biased!) LOL

I love comments! Did you know that comments that are less than 8 words long are considered spam? So, don't hold back! Spill yer guts. Let me know you stopped by and let me know what you liked about the post, or what you didn't like. If you are a blogger, be sure to include a link to your blog, so that I can easily reciprocate.
