#4M #RocktoberMusicFest : Hollywood Vampires

Not sure why, but I’m in the mood for another supergroup, maybe because it’s close to Halloween that this one is on my mind.

In 2015, Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, and Joe Perry came together to form a group. Their main objective was to honor the music of other rock stars that had died from excess in the 1970’s.

The group has released one studio album so far, but they have talked about doing a second album. They are still touring, despite their individual busy schedules.

The album opens with a spoken word piece titled "The Last Vampire" voiced by Christopher Lee, in which he recites a passage from Bram Stoker's Dracula. This was Lee's final recording for a musical album before his death in June 2015.

The next track is an original song written by the group, followed by 11 covers and then the album closes with another original song.

Today, I’m sharing the two original songs with you.

  1. You know what girlfriend, I take so many darn pills I don't even know what gabapentin is for! hahaha But she's got me up to 2 pills Morning, afternoon & night. Sheesh! I've never heard this one, but I'm not really into that hard rock stuff. We're pretty much old school here! Sorry! Have a fun Halloween my friend, but always be careful & aware of your surroundings. HUGS TRICK OR TREAT!

    1. gabapentin is primarily used for nerve pain, but it also has a few other uses. It is supposedly safer for your kidneys.

  2. Cathy had a song by Hollywood Vampires today. It was definitely a worthwhile project. For all his craziness, Alice Cooper is a pretty decent guy.

    1. Yes, Cathy had the first song in her post today as well. I think we were sharing the same thought process this week.

    1. It has been a long crazy month. Fun, but exhausting! I'll be better prepared next year :)

Still have lots to do, trying to find the motivation. Hopefully by this time next week I'll have made a big dent in the 'to-do' list.

  4. Mary,

I stopped by yesterday and then forgot to comment. *smack forehead* I think I have too much on my plate, what do you think? Well...I was surprised that anyone other than me featured Hollywood Vampires in this week's line up, so indeed great minds think a like or that's what I keep telling myself. You know the whole great minds. I'm not sure mine really falls into that category but it's nice to pretend that it does. :) Thanks for boogieing and for hosting the daily song challenge!

    1. No worries, Cathy

I've been like that for a few days now. It's not that I haven't visited anyone, I just haven't commented much. I need to break that habit. Thanks for stopping by! See you again tomorrow :)
