#SongLyricSunday : The Rasmus - First Day Of My Life

Time again for Song Lyric Sunday!

The Idea was formed by Helen @ This Thing Called Life One Word At A Time. She has presented us with the word prompt of FIRST for this week.

As usual, I had a few songs that came to mind, and as usual, I wanted to keep digging for something different, as it always seems someone else is posting those same first songs that come to mind.

So, yes, I dug deep. And I am so very happy that I did.  I stumbled across this song from a group that happens to be one of my friend’s favorite musical groups. This post is for you, Pandora!

The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band that formed in 1994 in Helsinki while the band members were still in upper comprehensive school. The original band members were Lauri Ylönen, Eero Heinonen, Pauli Rantasalmi and Jarno Lahti. Jarno Lahti left the year after and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen in 1995. Heiskanen quit the band in 1998 and was soon replaced by Aki Hakala. The Rasmus has sold 4 million albums worldwide, 310,000 copies in their native Finland alone. They have won numerous awards, both domestic and international.

"First Day of My Life" was originally released on the band's fifth album Dead Letters on 21 March 2003. It became one of numerous hit singles from the album, with the highest position being No. 4 in Finland.

    1. Finding new music and networking with other bloggers is one of my favorite things to do. I'm truly grateful for Helen and her weekly word theme. I also like Monday's Music Moves Me and Battle of the Bands. I'm looking forward to April's A2Z Challenge, and my newly annual challenge that takes place in October. Toying with the idea of my own weekly themed blog hop as well to fill in a few open spaces I have on my calendar :)

  3. Nice choice! With all the music I know of and love, it still amazes me how much music we never know about. Another reason I love Song Lyric Sunday...exposure to new music. Thanks for the share. :)
