#4M : Musical Body Parts

Welcome back to Monday’s Music Moves Me!

Our Musical Conductor Michele from Angels Bark has selected today’s theme.  She has chosen to assign us ‘Songs With Body Parts’

I sat down and started to write out a list of songs from the top of my head. There really are quite a few songs out there, and from different genres.  I thought I should narrow my list down to just 10 songs.

Here's a special bonus track, just for pure amusement! Note: I originally had a video of a live performance with kids, but sadly that video has since been removed :(

Now let’s Rock!

Today's playlist brings you these body parts:

  • Foreigner - Head Games
  • Foo Fighters - Skin and Bones
  • ZZ Top - Tush
  • Cutting Crew - (I Just) Died In Your Arms
  • The Who - Behind Blue Eyes
  • The Police - Wrapped Around Your Finger
  • Journey - Open Arms
  • The Weeknd - Can’t Feel My Face
  • Foo Fighters - My Poor Brain
  • Nickelback - Something In Your Mouth

Is it wrong that I was singing Head Shoulders Knees and Toes while putting together this list?

  1. Okay Mary, I just may have to kick your ass for giving me that "A Tooty Ta, A Tooty Ta, A Tooty Ta Ta" earworm that is no doubt going to be running around in my head all day! That was hilarious. Loved the animation, especially their eyes and knees. haha It was a cross between a game of Twister and the Hokey Pokey.

I don't know much about the Foo Fighters but am digging their Skin and Bones right now. Their other one is good too.
Loved hearing some Nickelback! I really dig that band.

Have a great week. We still need to catch up. Hopefully this week. Now I have to turn my attention to BOTb...have no clue who's going to be duking it out this week...

    talk soon,

    Michele at Angels Bark

    1. Ha Ha! I honestly had not heard the Tooty Ta song until just last week. The original video that I tried to share was hysterical! So bummed that it was no longer available.

The Foo songs are from their older material, but I still like them.

Yup, we still need to catch up. It's been a wild and crazy few months.

  2. When it comes to hard driving rock 'n roll it is hard to beat ZZ Top! It's amazing how many 80's Hair bands had an anthem sound to their music. Great set today. Have a blessed week.

  3. Listening to Nickleback as I write this. Loving The Who and ZZ Top too. Rockin' playlist, Mary! ☺ That Tooty Ta video was weird and hypnotic, all at the same time. LOL

I really tried to keep the playlist in the rock genre. Lots and lots of songs out there. Thanks for coming by to have a listen.

  5. Mary,

The kiddie song I'd never heard before now. Your playlist is pAwesome as usual! We matched quite a bit but you brought a few to the turntable that I didn't think of or didn't know before now (songs by Foo Fighters & Nickelback).

Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor and have a boogietastic week, my friend! xx

    1. Hi Cathy!

That kiddie song was a new to me song as well. I had never heard of it before until last week. When the video I wanted to use was no longer available, I had to google the lyrics to find the song. As Michele has pointed out, it's a real ear worm!

      Thanks for the dance!

    1. Isn't it funny how we always second guess ourselves? Glad that I could pick up the 'slack'.

  8. Uh oh. Earworm alert. A tooty ta...oh boy I'm in for it now. Had to do immediately to Nickelback (nice song) Foo Fighters (I felt like "my poor brain" a few seconds into the song), the Weeknd (I've not heard much of his stuff and this one was a pleasant surprise)and all the standbys. This is turning into a nice variety of songs type theme.

    1. My Poor Brain starts out rough, but it does get better as the song gets flowing. I think this is the only Weeknd song that I am familiar with. It just fit with the theme, though.

  9. I'm loving your playlist, Mary! And that tooty ta song cracked me up!! And funny you should mention singing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" in your head while writing your post - I did the same thing! :D Hope you're having a fabulous weekend!
