#RMF2019: Heart

Day 23 of #RocktoberMusicFest2019

Today’s Rockin’ group is one that I have admired for a very long time. I’ve not seen them in concert, but I do own a few of their albums.

Wikipedia tells us this about Heart:
Heart is an American rock band that first found success in Canada and later in the United States and worldwide. Over the group's history, it has had three primary lineups, with the constant center of the group since 1973 being sisters Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson. Heart rose to fame in the mid-1970s with music influenced by hard rock and heavy metal, as well as folk music. Their popularity declined in the early 1980s, but in 1985, the band launched a successful comeback which saw them experience greater success with album-oriented rock hits and hard-rock ballads that went into the 1990s.

Here are 10 of their songs:

  1. Alone
  2. Barracuda
  3. Crazy On You
  4. These Dreams
  5. All I Wanna Do (Is Make Love To You)
  6. Magic Man
  7. Dog and Butterfly
  8. Who Will You Run To
  9. Never
  10. Under The Sky

Have you seen Heart in concert? Were/Are you a fan of their music?

  3. As you probably already know, I'm a huge fan of Heart (latest BOTB) and have seen them live several times. In my opinion, Ann Wilson is one of the greatest female rock singers of all time! Enjoying your excellent playlist, now. ☺ BTW, they released an album called "Red Velvet Car" (their 14th) in 2010 which also has some great songs. For example, the title track.

    1. That's an awesome song, Debbie! I really haven't listened much to their newer material, but this video proves they still have their chops. Thanks for the share :)

  4. Great choice Mary. We have seen Heart several times and was glad to hear that they had gotten back together (they toured separately for a year or so because the sisters had a fight). Two performances stick out, one I was at where they sang "Reign O'er Me" and it actually started raining. It was magical. The other is the one they did for the Kennedy Center Honors when they sang "Stairway to Heaven." Gives me chills just thinking about it. Thanks so much for running the Rocktober fest again this year!

    1. Hi Janet!

That performance for the Kennedy Center Honors stays in my memory from the very first time I saw the video. Beautifully done!

  5. Classics IV, “Traces”

I think most of the Heart songs I'm familiar with are off their "Dreamboat Annie" album. Still, great band.
