#RMF2019: Steppenwolf

Day 5 of #RocktoberMusicFest2019

Let’s get this page a-rockin’!  Today I’ve got a fun band out of Canada…

Wikipedia tells us this about Steppenwolf
Steppenwolf is a Canadian-American rock band, prominent from 1968 to 1972. The group was formed in late 1967 in Los Angeles by lead singer John Kay, keyboardist Goldy McJohn, and drummer Jerry Edmonton. Guitarist Michael Monarch and bass guitarist Rushton Moreve were recruited by notices placed in Los Angeles-area record and musical instrument stores.

I’ve put together a set list of his music for you to enjoy!

  1. Born to Be Wild
  2. The Pusher
  3. Magic Carpet Ride
  4. Rock Me
  5. Sookie Sookie
  6. Jupiter’s Child
  7. Snowblind Friend
  8. Hippo Stomp
  9. Hey Lawdy Mama
  10. Hoochie Coochie Man

I’d love for you to join me in celebrating Rock Music this month. All you need to do is drop the link to your current Rock Music post in the comments. Be sure to code with html so the link is clickable.  (See the announcement post for instructions on that) And then visit everyone that has left their links.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for more #RMF2019 fun!

  1. 💖💖💖 John Kay is a personal musical hero of mine. Fabulous rock voice! He escaped from East Germany with his widowed mother after WWII, then immigrated to Toronto as a teenager. Great songs showcased here! Their lesser-known material is excellent, too. Thanks, Mary. 🙏 Made my night!

    1. Thanks, John!

No need to change out any of your songs. With most of us having pre-written our posts, there was always a chance of some overlap.

I didn't know Steppenwolf had recorded a version of 'Hoochie Coochie Man'. Now THERE is a song that has been recorded a godzillion times and could probably be used in several really good BOTB contests! (Food for thought for anyone who thinks. ...Which protly leaves me out.)

    1. Hey Stephen! Good to see you here! Wanna join in the fun? I'm always keeping my eyes open for a good one to add to my potential battle list. some have been on the list for years, but I haven't used them yet as they don't jump out at me at the time.
