#AtoZChallenge: A

Alright boys and girls… It's time to kick off the annual A to Z Blogging Challenge!

What’s the A to Z Blogging Challenge? Well… we start the month off with the letter A and follow each day (except Sunday) with the next letter of the alphabet. When we reach April 30, we will be on letter Z.  The challenge is a lot of fun and I’m hoping for a lot of interaction to take place here.

Here’s my plan:

Each day, I’ll pick a word to represent the letter of the alphabet. Then I’ll post 3 to 5 songs that have that word in the song title or lyrics.  I’m then going to ask you to leave a message in the comments section songs that also have the specified word in the title.  Comments are set up so that there should not be any captcha and you should not have to sign in to anything to be able to comment. I do ask, though, that if you do comment anonymously, that you please include your name  (and URL if you are a blogger).

But first - a matter of business.

I would love for each of you to take a moment to cast a vote in the battle (It’s super easy and lots of fun!)

Okay! Are you ready to begin?

Here we go….

Today’s word is “Angel”

From Dictionary.com:

  1. Scorpions - Send Me An Angel
  2. The Black Crowes - She Talks To Angels
  3. The Temptations - Earth Angel
  4. Greg Allman - I’m No Angel
  5. The Heights - How Do You Talk To An Angel

And that’s my Angels for the day.  Let’s see what Angel songs you come up with. Your songs can be from any musical genre.  Share in the comments.

  1. Well the first one that comes to mind has to be Angels by Robbie Williams - have to admit, loved it when it came out, but have listened to it too many times! One of my fav bands is Within Temptation and they also have a song called Angels, so that will be my choice.
    Tasha 💖
Virginia's Parlour - The Manor (Adult concepts - nothing explicit on blog)
    Tasha's Thinkings - Vampire Drabbles

  2. Angel is a good word to start with--we need our better angels in these times. The first song that came to my mind was "Angel" by Sarah McLachlin--such a beautiful song.

  3. Good word choice. I'm sure there are a lot of songs that fit. My pick would be "Calling All Angels" by Train. Weekends In Maine

  4. Mary,

Angel is an awesome key word to use for your mewsic search and playlist. A song title that fits well with your choices is one I stumbled across a few years ago that I liked by Train, "Angel in Blue Jeans". The video is great fun featuring Danny Trejo. 8. Enjoyed, including the "Earth Angel" cover. Never knew the Temptations had covered this classic. The Angel song that leapt to my mind right away was "Send Me An Angel" by Real Life.
