#AtoZChallenge: B

We’re back again with more fun with the A to Z Challenge.

A quick review of what we’re doing here:

I’ll post 3 to 5 songs with a word that represents the letter of the day. In the comments, you’ll share songs that also use the selected word in either the title or lyrics.  Pretty easy, and loads of fun!

Today’s word is “Blue”

From Dictionary.com:

  1. Keith Urban - Blue Ain't Your Color
  2. Roy Orbison - Blue Bayou
  3. Bob Dylan - Tangled Up In Blue
  4. Foreigner - Blue Morning, Blue Day
  5. Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee)

And those are my Blues for the day.  Let’s see what Blue songs you come up with. Your songs can be from any musical genre.  Share in the comments.

  1. I had not heard the Keith Urban song, but I really like it.
Can I pick a band with Blue in their name rather than a song - because Deacon Blue immediately came to mind - their songs remind me of my teenage years - Dignity is my fav I think. The song that leapt to mind was Blue Monday by New Order, even though I used to hate it when it first came out. 😂

Virginia's Parlour - The Manor (Adult concepts - nothing explicit in posts)
    Tasha's Thinkings - Vampire Drabbles

    1. I've been trying to avoid using bands with the word in their title, but there is a Deacon Blues by Steely Dan that's pretty darn good.

Blue Monday is so 80's! I'm actually surprised I didn't think of it, as that's my second go-to genre.

    1. There were so very many great choices to have to narrow it down to 5.

  4. Bobby Vinton, "Red Roses For A Blue Lady" and "Blue On Blue"
Paul Mauriat, "L'amour est bleu (Love Is Blue)"
Willie Nelson, "Blue Eyes Cryin' In The Rain"

I built a whole list once, and save for Roy, none of these were on it... Well done!

    1. My first year that I did this challenge, I went with one random song that started with each letter of the alphabet. It ended up being one earworm after another. Lots of fun! I may have to do that theme again next year. (When hopefully I'm not as ill I have been this year!)

  6. My first thought was Blue Christmas by Elvis. It's one of my holiday staples. Weekends In Maine

  7. Mary,

How about "Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue"? There are quite a few blue song titles, aren't there? I hope you're not feeling blue, cause Blue Ain't Your Color. :) I love that song!! Be well, my dear. Sending hugs, love, & prayers to you! 😘

    1. Thank you, Cathy! Am feeling a bit better today. Trying to catch up on things while waiting for home health to arrive. So many Blue songs... I could probably spend a month of Mondays on just the color blue..
