#AtoZChallenge: Q

We're getting into the more difficult letters of the alphabet. But are they really? I think we just need to apply ourselves a little harder :)

This post is part of a month-long blogging challenge. The challenge is to start the month with the letter A and make our way to letter Z at the end of the month.

A quick review of what we’re doing here:

I’ll post 3 to 5 songs with a word that represents the letter of the day. In the comments, you’ll share songs that also use the selected word in either the title or lyrics.  Pretty easy, and loads of fun!

Today’s word is “Queen”

From Dictionary.com:

  1. Dancing Queen - Abba
  2. Queen of Hearts - Gregg Allman
  3. Queen of Hearts - Juice Newton
  4. Caribbean Queen - Billy Ocean
  5. Queen of the Broken Hearts - Loverboy

And those are my Queens for the day.  Let’s see what Queen songs you come up with. Your songs can be from any musical genre.  Share in the comments.

Today’s post is part of the Monday’s Music Moves Me blog hop, hosted by X-Mas Dolly, and co-hosted by Stacy Uncorked, Curious as a Cathy. , and Ramblin with AM. Be sure to stop by the hosts and visit the other participants.  If you have a MUSIC* post, feel free to join in the fun! *sorry non-music posts are not permitted in this blog hop.

  1. I'm stumped.

I'm trying to think of a Boy George song that includes the word "queen" in the title but nothing is coming to my mind.

    So, I guess I'll just say . . .

    "Boy George".

(Oops! Was that a politically incorrect comment? If so, I promise never to be so insensitive again in the future, going forward, hereafter. It's really not like me to be so culturally outcast-y.)

    1. To quote Thumper:

"If you can't say anything nice.... Don't say anything at all"

    2. I'm not convinced that Thumper said that. Can you prove it?

And even if he(?) *DID*, we all know that Thumper and his(?) partner, Bambi, were . . . well, . . . "Non-Kings" (aka . . . "Boy Georges", "Elton Johns", "Liberaces", or . . . "Queen Victorias").

Hey, don't shoot the heterosexual messenger!!

    4. MMQE ~

Alright, I get it. You're upset because I didn't mention JOHNNY MATHIS. Mea culpa! And I'm especially sorry because I dig Johnny's singing. (Heck, I own several of his CDs!)

      Hmmm . . . .
Ordinarily, you seem to be kind of in-sync with my stream o' consciousness sense o' humor. Wha' hoppen? Who are you *REALLY* and what have you done with my friend, Mary?!

MMQE, I think you're just a bit low on oil. I have a good pal who can protly help you out. Contact:

And maybe we'll have better luck with letter "R".

  2. The SnowQueen by Disney!! I don't know about you, but when the movie was on screen, all - yes, all - the little girls in France were singing the song, well in French.
    It's: libéréééééééééééée, délivrééééééééée (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQP9XZc2Y_c)
Once you hear it, you have the song in the head all day long...
