#4M: Flowers and Gardens

Today our musical conductor wants us to share songs about Flowers and Gardens.

The first song in the setlist is the first song that popped into my head immediately. I just ran with it from there. Sorry if it seems a bit discombobulated. That's just how my brain functions some days.  Enjoy!

Here is what I came up with:

  1. Rose Garden - Lynn Anderson
  2. Iris - Goo Goo Dolls
  3. Supermarket Flowers - Ed Sheeran
  4. Kiss From A Rose - Seal
  5. Lilac Wine - Jeff Buckley
  6. Where Have All The Flowers Gone - Peter Paul and Mary
  7. Blue Orchid - White Stripes
  8. Roses are Red (My Love) - Bobby Vinton
  9. The Rose - Bette Midler
  10. Tip Toe Through The Tulips - Tiny Tim

Have a great week, and be sure to check out the new features on the blog :)

    1. Thank you! I always like to draw outside of the picture, and think outside of the box.

  3. Great old songs! I love The Goo Goo Dolls' song and Kiss From a Rose. Beautiful songs! The Tiny Tim piece cracks me up. I remember him doing this. He's so bad. LOL!

    1. He's so bad, he's good? I don't know that I will understand what the draw to him was. I do remember him performing on Carson and thought he was weird then too.

  5. I beg your pardon, Mary, but I never promised you a rose garden. I did say I would check out your blog though, and this one is great! I remember listening to Lynn Anderson's "Rose Garden" when I was a kid, and loving it. I still love it!

    1. Rose Garden was the first song that popped into my head when I read what the theme was. I thought - Rose = Flowers - Check, Garden - Check, Flowers and Gardens - Check, Check! It's definitely a two-fer and a blast from the past.

      Thanks for dropping by!

    1. Thanks, Marie!

And... you're not that old. Because if you're that old, that means I'm getting old. And we can't have that.

  7. You're the first person I've run across who used Tiny Tim's "Tiptoe Thru The Tulips." That'll keep Stephen happy. Good set!

  8. Good selections: I used Blue Orchid as one of mine :) I didn't even think about The Rose or Iris. And I should have. I've got to start giving myself more time to prepare these posts. I liked my selections, though.

Some of these are totally new to me!

  9. Mary,

Lynn Anderson's 'Rose Garden' is an oldie which I remember quite well. There have been many songs to cross paths among the 4Mers this week, more so than usual, but that's okay. It's always so much fun to see what others are spinning on the ole virtual turntable each week. Have a boogietastic week, my dear. Take care and be well!

  11. Tip Toe through the Tulips - would you believe I owned a 45 of the Tiny Tim cover of this song. Yes, so bad it was good. The Rose is a favorite of mine, as is (why didn't I put it on my blog?) Where Have All the Flowers Gone. Ed Sheeran's Supermarket Flowers is so sad (for me) that I couldn't even finish it - what a wonderful tribute to his Mom that was. Very, very nice set indeed.
