#4M: November Musicians

Our guest musical conductor this month is Robin from Songbird’s Crazy World! Robin gets to choose our themes this month. For today’s theme, Robin states ‘In honor of my daughter, whose birthday is in November, make a playlist from singers/musicians who were born in November’

A quick check with Google let’s me know there are plenty to choose from, but I think I’m going to just stick with 5 for now.

Well, alrighty then… Let’s get to it!

Please enjoy this week’s playlist:

  1. Anthony Kiedis - born Nov 1, 1962. Lead vocalist for Red Hot Chili Peppers. Today’s Song: Californication
  2. Rick Allen - born Nov 1, 1963. Drummer for Def Leppard. Today’s Song: Love Bites
  3. Art Garfunkel - born Nov 5, 1941. Best known as half of Simon And Garfunkel. Today’s Song: Bridge Over Troubled Water
  4. Peter Noone - Born Nov 5, 1947. Best known as vocalist for Herman’s Hermits. Today’s Song: There’s A Kind of Hush
  5. Booker T Jones - born Nov 12, 1944. Best known as leader of Booker T & The MGs. Today’s Song: Green Onions

  1. Mary,

First off, you listed five songs but only three videos are on your playlist. So, I wanted to bring that to your attention in case you didn't know they are missing. I enjoyed your song choices for today's theme. It was great boogieing with you, darlin'! I hope you're doing ok. Sorry for being such a lousy blog bud lately. Have a songsational week!

    1. Thank you for letting me know! One of the hazards of prescheduling posts, sometimes the videos disappear. I've got it fixed now.

  2. Hi, Mary. You have listed 5 songs but the You Tube playlist only has 3 (?) (the last two say "deleted" if you go into You Tube directly). They are all favs so I'll be back later in case you are able to fix this - or I'll just look them up myself. I've seen Peter Noone/Herman's Hermits in concert a couple of times and they are simply wonderful.

    1. Hi Alana!

I've (hopefully) got it fixed now. Thanks for checking in :)

    2. Thank you for reinstating the two missing songs. I chose a more recent Art Garfunkel performance so it was a good comparison between "then" and "now." And Peter Noone "then" and "now", too. But best of all was Booker T and the MG's and that old concert footage.

  4. Great songs and great groups. We both picked Anthony Kiedis but different songs.

    1. Awesome! I do enjoy RHCP.. it's nice they have a large enough catalog that there isn't a lot of overlap.

  5. We only had the same person once: Peter Noone, one of my faves, too. The flip side of "There's A Kind Of Hush" is "No Milk Today," my favorite HH song. Great list!

  6. So great tunes here. I was always a sucker for instrumentals. I actually owned the Green Onions album by Booker T & the MG's. Thanks so much for sharing that one.

  7. So sorry I'm so late, but I went to my daughter's (45 minutes away) and we went with my two of my grandchildren (ones 20 & the other is 14) & the four of us went to see my parents and grandparents, two aunts & uncles (one was my godmommy, Aunt Mitzi whom I love so much, and my daughter, Angelina (Angel)). I haven't been there in a while because my mom passed not that long ago & my daughter & I just couldn't bring ourselves to go. We cleaned all the stones & put up flag for the soldiers (my dad & uncles) & a flowered cross & pinwheel for the baby (my daughter) and Christmas flowers all around (Mom got a big bouquet she would've loved that) & I was gone most of the day. Sorry, it was supposed to be the last nice day & it was! So here I am ready to have you ROCK ME girlfriend! Thanks for understanding. So a little Red Hot Chili Peppers great start, and Rick Allen with some love bites, but I never heard that one which is kinda cool, and then we have some Art Garfunkel that I'm really not ready for that's more for evening & a cup of hot chocolate, right? OH MY GOODNESS, Herman's Hermits! We use to sing that Kind of Hush on the school bus. Wow, that's some old memories huh? hahaha Girlfriend FANTASTIC ending here! Woo Hoo GREEN ONIONS, that tune has been around a long time & used for so many things. You can't help, but put your own bounce to it. GREAT JOB my friend... thanks for sharing your talent for finding a great tune! Have a super day & stay healthy, stay safe and don't forget that mask! hugs
