#4M: Oh, Brother! Part 8

It’s a new month, and we have a new musical conductor. Please welcome Robin from Songbird’s Crazy World!  Robin gets to choose our themes this month. Today’s theme is Free Choice.

In the past, we talked about bands composed of siblings, or siblings with friends. This is a continuation of that post. I should note, the source that I am using is rather lengthy. I am only sharing bands that I am familiar with.

Please enjoy this week’s playlist:

  1. The Proclaimers, a Scottish vocal band, twins Charlie Reid and Craig Reid. Today’s Song: I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)
  2. The Psychedelic Furs, English rock band, Richard (singer) and Tim Butler (bass guitar). Today’s Song: Pretty In Pink
  3. Radiohead, an English alternative rock band, Jonny and Colin Greenwood. Today’s Song: Creep
  4. Redbone, a Native American rock and soul band, founded by brothers Pat and Lolly Vegas. Today’s Song: Come And Get Your Love
  5. Right Said Fred, a London-based English band formed by brothers Fred and Richard Fairbrass in 1989. Today’s Song: I’m Too Sexy
  6. The Ronettes, an American girl group from New York City with lead singer Veronica Bennett (Ronnie Spector), her older sister Estelle Bennett, and their cousin Nedra Talley. Today’s Song: Be My Baby
  7. The Shangri-Las, an American pop girl group of the 1960s that consisted of two sets of sisters. Mary Weiss (lead singer) and Elizabeth "Betty" Weiss, and identical twins Marguerite "Marge"/"Margie" Ganser and Mary Ann Ganser. Today’s Song: Leader Of The Pack
  8. Sister Sledge, an American musical group, Kim Sledge, Debbie Sledge, Joni Sledge, and Kathy Sledge. Today’s Song: We Are Family

  1. Watchin' flowers on the wall,
    That don't bother me at all;
    Playin' solitaire till dawn,
    With a deck of 51;
    Smokin' cigarettes and watchin' Captain Kangaroo,
    Now don't tell me I've nothin' to do....

    Love the Statler Brothers!

  4. Very nice. I am a huge fan of the Psychedelic Furs and my favorite song by them is "Heartbreak Beat". A great list.

  5. At the end of your series, I'm going to be asking "what group doesn't consist of brothers and/or sisters?" Who ever would have thought? I wasn't familiar with this particular Psychedelic Furs song. I was familiar with most of the other songs. Really enjoyed the Sly and the Family Stone video. And the Ronettes brought back childhood memories.
