Totally Awesome 80's - B #AtoZChallenge

#AtoZChallenge 2021 banner

Welcome back to the Totally Awesome 80’s!  A time when we used a full can of Aqua Net (but smart enough to not use Gorilla Glue) in our hair, A clothes were bright and vivid, and some of us even started wearing underwear as outerwear (*gasp!*) But don’t worry, we’re not going to focus on our fashion choices for that unforgettable decade. Instead, we’re going to focus on the music!

So, grab your walkman, put on your High Tops, and let’s dance!

  2. Good choices again. Wasn't there some sort of scandal about Milli Vanilli at some point, like they didn't actually sing their songs?

    1. Yes. Back in the day it was scandalous! Just look at all the supposed musicians today that don't actually sing their songs. I think Milli Vanilli was just ahead of their time.

  3. Another fun set of songs to listen to while having my lunch. I had to laugh at the workout clothes in Break My Stride especially those silver pants the men were wearing. I also felt one of the gals stole my workout outfit when I went to the gym :)

  4. These are great! Nowadays, rather than having someone else sing the song, they autotune the singer's voice...

  5. Back to the 80's: Blue Eyes, I think, is one of Elton John's best songs, for all I love his 70's hits. I saw on You Tube that the video was filmed on Australia's Bondi to Bronte walk, meaning it was perfect for "B" day. I didn't know one of the songs, Breakout. What a visual treat some of these songs were, as funny as some of those fashions look nowadays. Long live the 80's!

  6. Some really good tunes in this list. I was so impressed by Swing Out Sister when I heard "Breakout". I can't recall where I first heard it, but I immediately went out and bought the album on cassette.

  8. Bette Davis Eyes always gets stuck in my head. Although, I do like the song. Weekends In Maine
