Totally Awesome 80's - D #AtoZChallenge

#AtoZChallenge 2021 banner

Welcome back to the Totally Awesome 80’s!

A time when our clothes were bright and vivid (nobody had to tell us to NOT eat the laundry soap!). A time before cell phones,  and it was the very beginning of a time of personal computers. We had some unforgettable tunes, and that is what we’re focusing on today!

So, grab your big plastic earrings, put on your acid washed jeans, and let’s dance!

I've seen The Breakfast Club so many times I could probably recite some of the dialogue :-) I've enjoyed your playlist! You've set a cool memory-laced tone to the rest of my day - thank you ;-)

  6. There was a lot more diversity in the music of the '80's than we tend to remember. Great choices here!

  7. Fun fact: Don't Stand So Close To Me was No.1 in the UK on the day I was born ;-)

  8. Oh so much fun listening to all of these and bringing back great memories. Poor David Hutchence...I don't know if he killed himself or if it was a horrible error on his part because of sexual thrills, but he had such a great voice and look. He reminded me of Jim Morrison.

  9. Fun theme. So many of these songs have particular associations for me, like the friend who loved INXS, and remembering seeing some of these videos for the first time at the house of my best friend, who had MTV when it first began.

  10. how's your A to Z Challenge going, Mary? Love the song "Don't Stand So Close to Me". They sang it on GLEE. One of the better covers on the show.
