Acrostic Memorial Day

Our musical conductor for the month is John from Sound of One Hand Typing.

For today’s post, John tells us it’s Musical Acrostic Time.  He would like for us to spell ‘Memorial Day’ using song titles.  I’m going to try to stay within my favorite decade of the 1970s.

Maggie May - Rod Stewart (1971)

Eres Tu - Mocedades (1973)

Mississippi Queen - Mountain (1970)

One Toke Over The Line - Brewer & Shipley (1971)

Rikki Don’t Lose That Number - Steely Dan (1974)

It’s Only Rock n Roll (But I Like It) - Rolling Stones (1974)

American Woman - The Guess Who (1970)

Listen To The Music - Doobie Brothers (1972)

Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You - Sugarloaf (1975)

Aubrey - Bread (1973)

Your Mama Don’t Dance - Loggins & Messina (1972)

Today’s post is part of the Monday’s Music Moves Me blog hop, hosted by X-Mas Dolly, and co-hosted by Stacy Uncorked, Curious as a Cathy. , and Ramblin with AM. 2. The 70's are my next favorite decade after the 80's, but there are so many good 70's songs. Rikki Don't Lose that Number and Don't Call Us We'll Call You are my favorites for today. Bread has a couple of songs that make me cry and this is one of them.

  3. Mary,

What a great way to rock out the Memorial Day with tunes from the 70s! You picked some great ones in your set. Bread is one of my favorite bands. "Aubrey" was sung at our wedding 43 years ago. It's great having you at the party, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!
