#4M Siblings, Part 2
The other day we had a Siblings Day as our theme. I approached the theme a bit differently than the others, but today I thought I might show the outcome had I used the same approach as the rest of the #4M gang
I am the youngest of six. These are the songs that were number one when we were born. I’m not going to list the years, just know that we’re old ;)
Today’s post is part of the Monday’s Music Moves Me blog hop, hosted by X-Mas Dolly, and co-hosted by Callie of JAmerican Spice, Stacy of Stacy Uncorked and Cathy from Curious as a Cathy. Be sure to stop by the hosts and visit the other participants as well.
Mary,
ReplyDeleteGreat line up to commemorate your siblings in this extra mewsical edition. I remember hearing the 50s chart toppers growing up a decade later. Alley Oop, Monster Mash, and The Tambourine Man I remember very well. Thanks for sharing and hitting the dance floor with the 4M gals this morning. Have a songtastic day, my friend!
Hit the dance floor with AGT Unknown Talents!
Thanks, Cathy!
DeleteI was thinking just a few minutes ago that I should have done a then/now segment for hit songs on our birthdays. Oh well. I like how this one turned out, too!

Hey Mary,
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday! It was cool following along with the number one hits based on your siblings birthdays. I love The Monster Mash and ironically that's the year I was born!
Great photo of all of you! Oh to be able to go back to those days... Love the Mustang in the background. Was that your brother's car? Love it!
Have a great week,
Michele at Angels Bark
Hey Michele!
DeleteYes, The mustang belonged to my second oldest brother. The photo was taken in either 1973 or 1974, but it's one of those rare ones that has us all together.

How much fun was this selection. I wasn't around in the 50's but I still quite a few of these tracks because they did transcent time.
ReplyDeleteOh Jacqueline!
DeleteThis was a lot of fun putting together. The more I think about it, the more I realize that these songs are pretty close to our personalities as well.

The 50s and 60s had some great music. That was a fun trip back, Mary. I'm familiar with 'old', having been born in the year of 'Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White'. Love the photo of you and your siblings. Nice car!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie!
DeleteOne of the very few photos that I have of all of us together. Because of the age differences, it was hard to get us all together at the same time - and now, the two oldest are no longer with us, and the rest of us live in different states spread across the US.
~Mary
This is great. I love the photo, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joyce!
DeleteI always enjoy a trip down memory lane.

Youngest of 6? And here I thought 4 of us was a lot! ;) Great lineup of sibling birth year tunes! Before my time, but some I'm actually familiar with! ;) Thanks so much for the dance - have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteYes 6. I have cousins that have even larger families. It's hard to keep track of them all.
Delete~Mary
Great tunes. Love them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat!

It's always good to go back to a time when Rock wasn't the only thing on the Top 40. Great, great set!
ReplyDeleteThanks, John!
DeleteIt was fun for me to see what was popular for each of those dates.
~Mary
Love it..... Love it..... LUV IT!!! Some of these I haven't heard in years so it's nice to hear them again. Way ta go girlfriend! Woo Hoo YOU ROCK!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marie!
DeleteYou know me... I like to be 'different' - Ha!
~Mary
A large family and several songs I haven't heard in a long time. Mr Tamborine Man was a favorite back when it came out. Thank you for the memories. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking that stroll down memory lane with me!

Your posts are always so interesting. I learn so much about music and the artists. Great collection.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kristin!

ReplyDeleteI loves me some 'ALLEY OOP'.
"High-Ho, Dino-sawwwrrrr!"
Say, where was that photograph taken? Did you grow up in Sticksville? I actually like that rustic ramshackle look. It sort of looks like photos I've seen of Ireland.

LOL I grew up in smalltown Idaho. That shack looking building in the background is the neighbors 'garage'. We lived just a mere 5 blocks from the 'heart' of downtown.
DeleteLater, when I was 10 we moved to another smalltown, but this time we lived 5 miles outside of the city (using the term very loosely, as population was about 2500) limits, on a one-acre lot that we filled with chickens, goats, trees (at one point we had over 500 different variety of trees) and a massive garden.
Sounds like you grew up in Mayberrys.

That is uncanny! Google Earth really is amazing. Thank goodness I stayed inside when I saw the picture taking drone fly overhead.
