#4M : Musicians With March Birthdays

Welcome back to Monday’s Music Moves Me!

Today we are celebrating musicians who have a birthday during the month of March.

While I was doing my research, I discovered there are quite a few musicians that were born in March.  I did my best to whittle down the list (not that I don’t think everyone should be recognized, it’s just I think you guys might want to have time to visit other participants).

  1. That's a lot of music you have assembled for today. There are a multitude of multi-platinum artists on this list. Bon Jovi, James Taylor, Eddie Money and the incomparable Eric Clapton are among my favorites. Rock On!!!

    1. So many great artists born in this month. I started with a list of over 30, and it was hard to narrow it down to a manageable size.

  3. This is some kind of a record or something: You put 15 artists on your list, I put 14, and we didn't repeat any between us! The Smashing Pumpkins (Billy Corgan's band) started at Loyola University Chicago, my alma mater. Great set!

    1. John, I'm not surprised. There really are quite a few born this month. I was sure there would be some overlap of artist, but so far I haven't come across any using the same song. This is the mark of a great theme!

  6. Awww man, when I was snoopin' around on You Tube I saw some videos I wasn't likein' what I heard. Jon is loosing his voice for sure. Check out the one with them goin' on the Hall of Fame... and then he was at this wedding HOLY COW! He wasn't singin' but a few words here and there! Poor fella! They been together 35 yrs. and I saw them back with Richie Sambora too!!! woo hoo!!! So happpy for them!! You picked out their best tune! Great idea! Okay what else you got here! Come on now you're not outta breath yet are ya??? hehehe I haven't heard 1 night in London like in forever! WOW! Pink Floyd DOUBLE WOW! We had to learn this song & I was on keys. Then trouble. Our drummer didn't like me crossing my left hand over my right in the tune. It was the only way I could reach the proper key & he said in a bitchy way I might add "It's unprofessional"! I wanted to dot his eye! Well, I kept doin' it that way and played from the other side of the stage as to not annoy each other! The Dork! Up next Pearl Jam. Sorry I wasn't ever into them, but James Taylor he's our vacation man. We'd listen to him on CD & sing along.. hahahaha! Dang the next one to much screaming for me & hey look we have the same tune on Bret Michaels with his daughter. Very cool! Well, I'm off to the Post office I'm sure the rest of your turns are awesome as these. Girlfriend you got what it takes. Are you doing the A to Z & if so what is your theme? You can email me if you don't want anyone to know. HUGS & Have a great day & week! HUGS

    1. Hey Marie!

I am doing the A2Z this year - with not only one but TWO blogs! Am I crazy or what?!? You must have missed my theme reveals - here are the links:

      Literary Gold Theme Reveal

      Jingle Jangle Jungle Theme Reveal

The video for Jeff Ament is for his solo work. I neglected to include a pretty cool thing about Jeff. I know you're not much into Pearl Jam, but this is pretty cool. So Jeff grew up in a small town in Montana (and by small, I mean... dont blink or you will miss it!) population 700 small. The nearest hospital for that town is about 40 miles away. He was born in that hospital. Just over Two years after he was born - I made my appearance here on earth. The difference was this. I lived in that VERY SAME small town. My mother didn't make it to the hospital - I ended up being born at the clinic in our tiny town - but I did spend my first night alive at the very same hospital where Jeff was born. And had my parents not moved a few months after I was born, I would have grown up with Jeff and his siblings.

      Have a great week!

      ~Mary

  7. There were so many artists to choose from that it was hard to pick a couple. I just read your story about Jeff Ament. My bestie followed Pearl Jam while I was following REM and did their fanzine. Thanks for the tunes.

    1. Hi Cathy!

That is so cool! I think a fanzine would be a lot of fun.
