The Guest: Julie In The Making

Welcome to "The Guest"
Jingle Jangle Jungle’s Guest Blogger Series

Before we get things started today, I wanted to wish all the Mothers a happy Mothering Sunday.

Today brings us our second week of "The Guest".  I'm really excited about this new series that is taking place right here at Jingle Jangle Jungle. Today's post comes from my Julie of Julie In The Making, and her article is about one of her favorite songs.

I have booked some really AWESOME bloggers (and non-bloggers as well), from all over the internet, and I just can’t wait for you to “meet” them all. Each and every Sunday, you will find a new Guest here. Thank you for stopping by today to join us for this week’s "The Guest".

Julie is a primary school teacher who loves holidays, the beach and great chocolate (actually any chocolate). She is mad keen on making free printables, easy recipes, teaching and kids activities. Julie is a single mum by choice to two gorgeous children who are her world.
Be sure to check out Julie's Social Media. She'd love a follow.

Thank you Mary for featuring me on Jingle Jangle Jungle today. It’s nice to be writing about something different and music is always fun and touches the heart of everyone. I have really enjoyed writing about this song today.

I have never written a music post but I thought why not. What music would I like to share. I decided on sharing one of my all time favourite songs from my childhood - Down Among the Dead Men by Flash in the Pan. I love this song.

So obviously it’s an oldie but it’s just a classic tune. I loved this song as a child. It’s about the Titanic sinking. Growing up I was obsessed with the Titanic, I got books out the library and read everything I could, I even made a wooden model of the Titanic. Everything about this song appealed to me and still does. I love the tune of the song, it sounds like the chorus is sung through a bull horn, how wicked is that. I am not sure what that is called but sounds good. I also love the video of how it’s so seventies with everyone smoking and drinking. They even have real footage at the beginning of the song.

Flash in the Pan was formed by Harry Vanda and George Young in 1977. In fact George is the older brother of Angus Young and Malcom Young from AC/DC. So it’s no surprise they are an Australian group who have worked with AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and the Angels. Both were formerly members of The Easybeats which everyone knows the song Friday on my Mind.

So with no more chatting here it is. Enjoy this blast from the past.
