M Songs - #4M

Image
Time again for Monday’s Music Moves Me, otherwise known as #4M or M4, depending upon whom you are conversing with.  Today’s Theme is ‘songs that start with the first letter of your name’ There are like a gazillion songs out there that start with the letter M. As you know, I tend to get carried away, but I’m trying to show some restraint, and only showcase 10 of those songs.

Even More Self-Indulgence

Image
Two weeks ago, I had a battle of the bands with the song. ‘Mary, Mary’ as the subject, and you humored me with my self-indulgent battle. On Monday, I brought you more songs with Mary in the title, and you humored me still. I have one tiny self-indulgence post and I am asking you to humor me once again. (I promise this will be the last self-indulgence…. For a while, anyway)

#4M More Indulgence - Songs About Mary

Time again for Monday’s Music Moves Me, otherwise known as #4M or M4, depending upon whom you are conversing with.  Today’s Theme is a freebie, so I decided to continue on with the self-indulgence (see Battle of the Bands post ) theme.  Today, I have a few more songs with ‘Mary’ in the title. I’ve come up with 10, although I know there are more out there.

Paul Butterfield Blues Band & #BOTB Results

Before we get started with today's post, let's go over the Battle of the Bands Results. The battle was a cover of 'Mary, Mary', with the contenders being Butterfield Blues Band, The Monkees, and Run DMC. It was back and forth between The Monkees and the Butterfield Blues Band, but poor Run DMC got no love from you all. It was beginning to look as though I was going to have to be a tie breaker as of Tuesday night, but by Wednesday morning, two more votes for Butterfield Blues Band came rolling in to save the day!

#4M European Favorites

Time again for Monday’s Music Moves Me, otherwise known as #4M or M4, depending upon whom you are conversing with.  Hells Bells! I had a post all written and scheduled ready to roll when they changed the theme and didn’t send the memo. So today’s post is written on the fly and I apologize if it seems I didn’t put much thought into it.

100% Purely Self-Indulgent Battle of the Bands

Image
Today is all about Self-Indulgence! That’s Right. I’m being completely selfish today, and I am going to make you participate (okay… *make you* may be a bit of a stretch because I can’t afford Vinny’s prices to find you and do bodily harm if you don’t, so, how about I just say that I’d really, really, really like for you to join in the fun?)  It’s time for the next installment of Battle of The Bands, and I’m making it all about ME! (well, sort of.. Read on, you’ll see what I mean!)

One Hit Wonders of the 90's #4M

Time again for Monday’s Music Moves Me, otherwise known as #4M or M4, depending upon whom you are conversing with.  Today’s Theme is a freebie, so I came up with my own for the day.  The theme I chose for today is “One Hit Wonders of the 90’s”

Like Father, Like Son: Willie and Lukas Nelson

Throughout music’s history, there have been many a child that has followed their parent’s footsteps and dreams into the music industry.  Off the top of my head, I think of Hank Williams and Hank Jr,  Arlo and Woodie Guthrie, Alan and Robin Thicke,  Johnny and Rosanne Cash, Bob Marley and his sons Ziggy and Damian, just to name a few.
