#FridayFive Shout Out to RHS Class of '83

Going back into time here. 1983 to be exact. It was a time of youth and lots of big hair. It was also the year I graduated high school.

Let me tell you a little bit about my graduating class. There were a little over 200 of us in our class, and we all knew each other. Sure there were some cliques, but overall everyone got along well. So well, that when it came time to make a decision about the frequency of our class reunions after school that we voted to get together every 5 years, instead of the traditional 10 years.

Fast forward 30 plus years. Many of us are connected via social media. Still good friends.

Recently one of the classmates decided to change our tradition just a bit. It has been decided that we should gather annually, not in the official capacity of a class reunion, as those take place every five years, but as a way of just hanging out together.

I've not attended the past few reunions, and I missed this recent annual gathering, but I still think about my friends hopefully I'll make it to one of the gatherings.

I've put together today's Friday Five in honor of my classmates. According to Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 Singles, these are the top 5 songs from 1983.

The Police - Every Breath You Take

Michael Jackson - Billie Jean

Irene Cara - Flashdance... What a Feeling

Men At Work - Down Under

Michael Jackson - Beat It

Does your class have any traditions outside of reunions? Do you still meet up with your friends from high school? Tell me about it in the comments below.

Don't forget... you can check out all of the playlists from this blog on YouTube. I would love it if you subscribed.

What does tomorrow bring?

Tune in to find out...
