N-S Unofficial #AtoZChallenge

If you haven’t taken a moment to vote in the most recent battle of the bands, now is the time to do it! There are some lovely ladies competing this round. They need your support. Voting ends Sunday, April 22, with results revealed on Monday, April 23. You can see that battle HERE. Don’t worry - the link will open a new tab so you won’t lose your place here.

Continuing on with the #AtoZChallenge in an unofficial capacity…

The theme I’ve chosen this year is Classic Rock.  Classic Rock puts me in a good mood, and this is a great way to start off the week.

Previously, we covered letters A through G and then H through M
We had tunes from:
  • Badfinger
  • Beatles
  • Bob Dylan
  • Crosby, Stills, & Nash
  • Edgar Winter Group
  • Electric Light Orchestra
  • Guess Who
  • Harry Chapin
  • Mountain
  • Nazareth
  • Ram Jam
  • Rolling Stones
  • Steely Dan

This week, we are covering letters N through S

Here are the songs I’ve chosen for this week:

  • Night Moves - Bob Seger
  • Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da - Beatles
  • Paranoid - Black Sabbath
  • Question - Moody Blues
  • Rock You Like A Hurricane - Scorpions
  • Suzy Q - Creedence Clearwater Revival

Please note that this is a playlist. There is more than one song in this playlist.  Go ahead and let it play in the background as you visit the other blogs participating in the challenge or as you go about your day.

  1. You continue with songs I love, especially Rock You Like a Hurricane - a permanent earworm after the 10,041 times my son played it on Guitar Hero! Thank you for nostalgia, my musical friend, as you rock the Unofficial A to Z! Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

It's always a fun theme. I'll be wrapping it all up next week. But I guarantee the tunes won't stop flowing from this page anytime soon :)

  2. Mary,

'Night Moves', 'Rock Me Like A Hurricane', & 'Suzie-Q' I vividly recall well. The others were introductions. You sure know how to put a playlist together for us to enjoy not only on the 4M dance floor but as an unofficial A2Zer. :) Today's post is a hodgepodge of posts with 4M, Sparks, A2Z, & BoTB. Have a tunetastic week and happy A2Zing, my friend!

I thought about combining the battle with my post today, but ultimately decided against it. Love the classic rock and could listen to it all day every day :)

  4. Night Moves has been a favorite of mine for many years. Great choice. Your tunes coming up too are a few favorites of mine. So cool! You've rocked the house yet once again. So, gotta move on so I can get a few words everywhere to let them know we all rock together! More the merrier... have a great rockin' week!

  7. Oooooh....LOVE Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da! And any Bob Seger, really. He was one of my Dad's favorite musicians, so anytime I hear anything by him, I'm always reminded of him. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hi Kim!

Bob Seger is a good one. I regretfully missed an opportunity to see him in concert. Hopefully I will get to before he keels over. Good to see you posting again.

  8. "Night Moves" is such a great song that I'll listen to whenever it comes on the radio. Same with the long version of "Suzy Q" (But I'll take the short version too). My second wife's name was Susan so I'd sometimes call her Suzy Q or sing the song. I did like the way she walked and everything else.

    1. Lee,

CCR is one of those bands that I could listen to for hours on end. So memories associated with their music. My mother used to call me Suzy Q every once in a while. However, I bet the song was more fitting for your wife than for me. Thanks for dropping by!

  9. I totally love rock music and what fils me most is the instrumental beats let alone the perfect lyrics. Anyway, I vote for Night Moves by Bob Seger now that I've had that song in my playlist for around a year now!
