#4M - What I Like About Autumn (Musically Speaking)

Monday is here again!  Our Musical Conductor for the month of September is  Cathy of ‘Curious As A Cathy’  and she has picked some pretty good ones for this month.

Today she has given us the theme of “Songs about What We Like About Autumn”

While Autumn isn’t my favorite season, I would definitely say I prefer it over Winter.  So, what is it about Autumn that I like? Let’s find out with these musical clues...

Leaves That Are Green - I’ve always liked the changing of the colors.

Ida, Sweet as Apple cider - There is nothing like a nice cup of Hot Apple Cider or Pumpkin Spice Latte to warm your soul.

The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead - Pumpkins remind me of the fall.

Season of the Witch - Halloween happens in the Fall. It’s fun for everyone!

Sweater Weather - What can I say? I enjoy sweaters. Sweaters are a great reminder that the sun is not out frying our flesh and it’s not finger freezing cold, either. Sweaters are like wearing a warm cozy blanket.

Before I leave, I’d like to invite you all to join me in a month-long Blog Hop that I’m hosting. The month of October is going to a lot of fun.  Click here to read more about this Blog Hop. It’s sure to be a music lover’s delight!

Today’s post is part of the Monday’s Music Moves Me blog hop, hosted by X-Mas Dolly, and co-hosted by JAmerican Spice, Stacy Uncorked, Curious as a Cathy. , and Ramblin with AM. Be sure to stop by the hosts and visit the other participants.  If you have a MUSIC* post, feel free to join in the fun! *sorry non-music posts are not permitted in this bloghop.

  1. Mary,

"Sweater Weather" was a new one for me, so it's great fun to see that you used it, too. :) Other than this song on your playlist, I only knew S&G "Leaves That Are Green" and the rest are introductions. I enjoyed both tracks 3 and 4 quite a bit. Thanks for perking my ears with these tune selections. Have a tunetastic week and thanks for hitting the dance floor with the 4M gang today!

    1. Thanks, John!

I think that was the only one that I was familiar with as well. This was fun putting together.

  4. Hey Mary,
Very cool playlist. You know it's going to be good when it kicks off with Simon & Garfunkel! I forgot all about that song. Was good to hear again. And I'm an apple cider fan too! Ida, Sweet as Apple Cider was a fun song from Bill Haley.
I discovered XTC when I was doing the Musical Journey of My Life a few years back during the A-Z. I don't think I discovered Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead though. Thanks for the intro.
I loved hearing and seeing the Season of the Witch video by Julie Driscoll (new to me artist). That's such a great song and I've heard several versions of it over the years. This was a cool one!
And Sweater Weather: Please send me some cold sweater weather soon! I never heard the song before and heard it for the first time today over at Cathy's place. Good song!
Okay Chica, would love to chat with you about your Octoberfest blog hop. I'm going to try to participate in some way but I know there's no way it can be every day. But let's chat later... :)

    talk soon,
    Great Autumn playlist!

    1. Hey Michele!

Good to see you out and about! Hopefully, I will have a spare moment to make some more visits to those that I missed earlier. It has been one of those weeks... months.. lifetimes.

This was a lot of fun to put together, and thankfully Google is my friend - Ha! I'm super excited about the month of October. I've already put together the posts for Mondays (except for that last freebie) and just now put the finishing touch on the last post for the first week. I tell myself that if I do all of this in advance, it will go much smoother.

      We'll definitely chat later!

  5. Most of these were new to me. I enjoyed nearing Season of the Witch again. Idea, Sweet as Apple Cider is a sweet song, too. I'd love to join for some Rocktober days although life may prevent that. We'll see!
