#RocktoberMusicFest : Greg Kihn Band - The BreakUp Song

Today for the #RocktoberMusicFest we are visiting a classic from The Greg Kihn Band.

If you haven’t taken the opportunity to vote in the current battle of the bands, please do so. It only takes a moment to listen to the contenders and comment with your vote. Don’t worry, the link will open up a fresh window, and I’ll hold your place for you here. Voting will end soon, so be sure to get your vote in before it’s too late.

"The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em)" is a song written by Greg Kihn and Steve Wright and recorded by American rock band The Greg Kihn Band. Released in 1981, the song celebrates the quality of break-up songs in rock's earlier times, as the narrator laments both his recent breakup and the fact that they don't write good breakup songs anymore.

I dare you not to sing along with this one…

    1. Hiya Cathy!

I always have one of those "oh! This song.." moments with this one. I know I've heard the song plenty of times before but for some reason I can't connect the dots with the name and title. With so many songs out there, it's easy to do.

Thanks for joining me in my little party today!

  3. First - I totally forgot to link my post today, but I just did that, so better later than never, I suppose! LOL

Second - I really thought this was going to be another new song for me, but as soon as I hit play I recognized it. I guess I just never knew the name or band before today. :)

    1. No worries, Michele!

I'm just happy as a pig in mud that you stopped by! I'm a bit behind in just about everything right now. Including my offline life. I need a full week just to myself to get everything caught up and back on schedule. Either that, or I should just forego sleep altogether. Caffeine IV for one, please!
