#RMF2019: Foo Fighters

Day 9 of #RocktoberMusicFest2019

Today’s headliner band is easily one of my favorites.  Dave Grohl has got to be one of the nicest guys in Rock n Roll and he makes everyone feel as though he is their best friend.  The rest of the band is quite personable as well.

Wikipedia tells us this about Foo Fighters:
Foo Fighters is an American rock band, formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1994. It was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the dissolution of Nirvana after the suicide of Kurt Cobain. The group got its name from the UFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as "foo fighters".

One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to!

Today’s list consists of 10 of my favorite Foo Fighter songs (in no significant order)

  1. Walk
  2. The Sky Is A Neighborhood
  3. The Pretender
  4. Hey Johnny Park!
  5. Iron Rooster
  6. All My Life
  7. Generator
  8. Times Like These
  9. These Days
  10. Everlong

What’s your favorite Foo Fighters Song? Have you seen them in concert?

  1. Mary,

Foo Fighters is a band I was introduced to since I began blogging. The group formed in 1994 the year my son was born and during a period in which I didn't listen to the radio often, so Foo Fighters flew under my radar, as well as many other cool 90s bands did for years. Thankfully, my bloggy pals such as you turned my ear to these sounds and today I get to hear some of your favorites by them to sample. Now to listen and enjoy!

Not knowing who's who or anything about Foo Fighters, I wanted to know who the lead singer is to discover that's Dave Grohl. His vocals are nice. Did he sing when he was with Nirvana? I can't say I have a favorite song yet. If I had more exposure to the band then I might be able to say for sure but I certainly did like this playlist, especially the first two tracks, as well as 'Times Like This". Thanks for the Foo Fighter mewsic sample today.

When you can, join me for <a href="https://curiousasacathy.com/2019/10/no-words-needed-rock-instrumetnals-from-the-70s/>No Words Needed Rock Instrumentals from the 70s #RMF</a>! Rock on, my friend!

    1. Hi Cathy!

Finally getting around to my blog visits today :) Dave Grohl was the drummer for Nirvana. Kurt Cobain was the singer. My favorite song changes from time to time. I think it just depends on my mood at the moment.

  2. The Ventures, “Hawaii Five-O”

Foo Fighters took their name from one of my favorite all-time comic strips, "Smokey Stover." Remember that one?

    1. Thanks, Janet

Glad that I could introduce you to their music. One of the things that impresses me most is that they are always inviting people from the audience to join them on stage, and recently Dave Grohl's oldest daughter has been joining them on their tour. She's 12, but sounds like Adele.
