#RMF2019: Tom Petty

Day 6 of #RocktoberMusicFest2019

Today’s artist is a guy that had been around for quite awhile. His sudden passing two years ago had quite an impact on many other artists and groups.

Wikipedia tells us this about Tom Petty:
Thomas Earl Petty was an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor. He was the lead singer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, formed in 1976. He previously led the band Mudcrutch. He was also a member of the late 1980s supergroup the Traveling Wilburys.

I’ve put together a set list of his music for you to enjoy!

  1. Free Fallin’
  2. I Won’t Back Down
  3. You Don’t Know How It Feels
  4. Runnin’ Down A Dream
  5. Don’t Come Around Here No More
  6. Refugee
  7. Mary Jane’s Last Dance
  8. Don’t Do Me Like That
  9. It’s Good To Be King
  10. End Of The Liner

I’d love for you to join me in celebrating Rock Music this month. All you need to do is drop the link to your current Rock Music post in the comments. 1. I had a hard time narrowing it down to just 10 songs. Loved his music (okay.. I still do)

  2. Still not over his passing. I don't know why it should have affected me more than others but it did. I am going to try to get a post up today but we are moving my 96 year old mom and I don't know if I'll have time. I wasn't organized enough to plan in advance :(

  3. Tom Petty's death was such a shock! 😢 His songs are part of all of our lives. He had a great sense of humour, too, as evidenced in the videos. Good To Be King! 😄 Another fabulous post, Mary!

  4. And now we have still another rock great gone. Many of your Tommy Petty lists are part of the soundtrack of my life. It's hard not to feel sad. Not sure about how well I coded my post's name because it keeps saying my tag isn't closed so I am giving up for now and trying this: https://ramblinwitham.blogspot.com/2019/10/ginger-baker-rocktoberfest-blogboost.html

    1. I saw that news earlier today. It's crazy because my current Battle of the Bands song is a Cream song, and I've got a post prepared for Tuesday with Cream's music. I need to update my post with the news of his passing.
