Love Is In The Air: Reunited

February 9, 2020

Much like my Jingle All The Way series that I did in December, I've decided to present to you Love Songs from the 1970's for the entire month of February.  Yes, Valentines Day is a commercial holiday, but we will be celebrating love all month long here at Jingle Jangle Jungle. (Chocolates and Roses not included)

You are more than welcome to join in the fun, all you need to do is include a link to your post in the comments so that everyone can visit. The more the merrier :)

Alright! Let’s get this party started! Fill up those waterbeds, break out the black lights and disco balls and let’s have some fun!

The song for today -

Reunited by Peaches & Herb

Wikipedia tells us about this song:

"Reunited" is a hit song for R&B vocal duo Peaches & Herb. As the second single release from their 1978 album, 2 Hot, the song was a huge crossover smash, topping both the pop and soul charts. It spent four weeks at number one on both the R&B singles chart and the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in 1979 and sold over 2 million copies. Billboard ranked it as the No. 5 song for 1979. In Canada, "Reunited" likewise reached number one and was the No. 9 song for the year.
The song was written by Dino Fekaris and Freddie Perren. It was the sequel to the duo's 1968 hit "(We'll Be) United", performed with the original Peaches, which was itself a cover of The Intruders' original 1966 hit

Won’t you join me in this fun month-long theme? Again, all you need to do is post your link in the comments.

  2. Mary,

Oh, I love Peaches & Herb! "Reunited" is from their 1978 album but released as a single March 1979 just a few months before we got married. This song is soooo beautiful and is one of my favorites from the day!
