BOTB Results - Still No Satisfaction

Part two of the Satisfaction battle is now complete. You can all breathe a sigh of relief that it is over.

I guess my picker has been ‘off’ lately. Probably because I’ve been quite distracted by everything else going on around me. But I thought for sure more of you would vote for the heavier version of Satisfaction. Again, I was wrong.

I’m beginning to wonder if I need to sit out a few rounds of battles until I can get myself together again. But I’m so scattered, I worry that may be quite a while before I get it together again.  Music is supposed to be healing and help us through the rough times, right?  I feel as though I’ve let quite a few of you down with my battles.

I do have an idea for my next battle that takes place on April 15. But I am quite hesitant to put it together just yet. I seem to have lost my confidence in a few areas of my life lately.  For those of you who might not know - I have not gone a full two weeks since January without some sort of medical issue going on. I thought I was going to get a reprieve when my oncologist told me I didn’t need to see them again until June, but then, I developed pressure ulcers. They look more like someone took a knife and sliced. The wounds are large and deep. I don’t worry about Covid, as that is the least of my troubles.

Sorry for the rant. I’m just really struggling this week - mentally, emotionally, and physically.

So how did this battle play out?  Let’s find out:

Votes for Dead Bang:  1
Votes for Stringspace String Quartet:  8

Well, at least it wasn’t a complete shutout :)

This past weekend, we lost another great musician - Bill Withers.  In honor of his memory, I found this piece done by the Stringspace musicians.

That’s all from me for now.  I hope that you are enjoying the A2Z pieces, as I found them to be a lot of fun putting together. Hopefully I will be able to put together a better battle for you to enjoy on the 15th.

  1. Don't stop posting your band Battles! They're all worth a shot as far as I'm concerned and I've had some imbalanced outcomes just like this one. Hey, at least you got one vote for the rockers. Hang it there! I'm not overly concerned about the Covid thing, but I'll be glad when the shopping insanity calms down. My current schedule is mostly like my usual schedule except for the shopping hassles and orders not to go anywhere. This will all pass with maybe worse things to look forward to. I'm not going to worry about any of it. Well, at least not until we actually start running out of stuff in our house.

I'll be posting my BOTB results tomorrow (Wed).

  2. You have gone through a lot to say the least. I am not sure why you were given this battle but I believe there is a reason for everything we just don’t know it for years afterward at times. I am not religious but I do like this saying, “It’s better to walk with an angel through hell than with the devil through paradise.” This is a nice tune done by the winners. Don’t give up on your BOTB they are always fun.

  3. Mary,

Hey you're doing fine, girl! If you feel good then share away. I was thinking about sitting the mid-rounds out but then I changed my mind because we all need the mewsic right now. As you mentioned, mewsic is healing. Who cares if your voting is tipped way to one side. It's all done in the spirit of fun and love, so just go with the flow. Doing these posts will offer you the distraction needed while you heal and deal with the mess surrounding the world right now. I love the Stringspace String Quartet tribute to Bill Withers - beautiful! Have a bandtastic day, my dear. Sending love, hugs, & prayers to you!! xx
