#4M: YTR June 29

Time for the weekly game of YouTube Roulette.

Consider this a bonus round of YTR. I’ve been away from my computer for about 2 weeks and I haven't had time to think about what to do for today’s Monday’s Music Moves Me.  Hopefully, my medical appointments will slow down enough so that I can get a few more posts prewritten in advance.

How it works:

I click on a suggested video from YouTube and then make a playlist using the ‘Up Next’ songs.

Pretty simple, and the songs will almost always be different each and every time.

It’s a great way to learn about new artists and tunes, and refresh the memory of tunes from days gone by.

** Note: I switched up my own rules just a bit. If the up next song is by the same artist as the one before, It is skipped. This will help give more variety to the playlist I think.  Also, if there are regional restrictions, that video is skipped as well.

Today’s Roulette Playlist:

  • The Flys - Got You Where I Want You
  • Everlast - What It’s Like
  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd - Blue On Black
  • Godsmack - Rocky Mountain Way
  • Live - Lightning Crashes
  • Chris Rodrigues & The Spoon Lady - Angels In Heaven
  • Gangstagrass - You Can Never Go Home Again
  • Five Finger Death Punch - A Little Bit Off
  • LoCash Cowboys - C.O.U.N.T.R.Y.
  • Colt Ford - Waste Some Time

See you again soon! Share with me your thoughts about this playlist. If you’d like to join in this fun game of going down the youtube rabbit hole - feel free! All I ask is that you share your link in the comments so that I and others can come visit.

  4. Mary,

I thought 'Blue On Black' was familiar to my ear. It was 5FDP ft. Kenny Wayne Sheppard that I first heard. His solo version is nice, but I like them both. I've listened to this YT of Chris Rodrigues and the Spoon Lady before, and I really like Chris' vocals. I discovered the Spoon Lady three years ago. She's an Asheville NC street busker or at least she was at the time. I'm not sure how I stumbled on her but it's kind fun watching her play along with other mewsicians. Thanks for sharing such an interesting playlist on the dance floor. Take care, stay safe, and get yourself well again, my friend. Oh yeah and have a boogietastic week! ;)

  5. This was an interesting blend of songs I've known but haven't heard in years and some new ones. The surprise one for me was "Waste Some Time" and its country rap (?) it was such a fun song and one could only hope that the days where you can get together carefree and have an impromptu party return soon.
