January Battle of the Bands Results

I know, I know… I’m a day late in getting out the results.

In fact, if it weren’t for a last minute vote cast, I may have completely forgotten about the battle. Seems that many of you have forgotten about the battles as well.  I’m just going to chalk it up to the fact the battle posted on a Holiday, and this crazy insane week happened.

So, for those of you who may have missed the memo - After taking a few months hiatus from the Battle of the Bands, I made my return on January 1. This was something I promised Mr Stephen T McCarthy I would do.

For this month’s battle, I went with a cover of a Phil Collins song. I was going to go with a different song for the battle, but something happened in November. After dealing with doctors and medical care every single week since the first week in January last year, I needed a break. I was also growing quite tired of the rhetoric that was being spewed at me by those taking me to my appointments. Thus, this song selection seemed appropriate. It was a great coincidence that YouTube was suggesting to me one of the contenders for this battle.

Let’s give the original a listen:

But enough about that. Let’s get to the battle results.

Votes for HellYeah! - 3

The Cute One, Mike, Alana

.

Votes for Staind, Saint Asonia, and Seether collab - 3

Cathy, Stephen, Birgit

Not a huge turnout in votes, but considering there was a Holiday, I’m not complaining. Now, I suppose I should cast my vote to break this tie.

I really like the Heavy Metal sound for this song. It seems appropriate to just growl out I DONT CARE ANYMORE, so therefore, I am casting my tie breaking vote for HellYeah!

I do hope that you will come back and vote in my February Battle of the Bands. Bring your friends. 😃

  1. Mary,

At least your showdown was more evenly matched. Mine was a huge runaway for the winner. I think when the same stuff gets slammed at us over and over and over it's natural to say to oneself I don't care anymore but we really do. We all can't agree on everything but when two people sit on different sides or even the same side sometimes it's best to not always talk about the same ole same ole, you know? Oh well...here's to trying to get our feet back under us again in the new year. I hope your health concerns won't be an crisis like last year.

Take care, be safe, and keep warm. It's cold today. Have a good weekend and I'll see you on the dance floor Monday! ;)

    1. You're right. I was just thinking about this a few moments ago. In fact, another idea came to mind. I'm going to work out a post about this new idea and hopefully it will get posted before the weekend is over. It's something that I think most will agree with and will hopefully want to join in.

Have a great weekend, and see you on the dance floor on Monday!

  2. So, my belated vote tied things up. Happy I didn't say "oh, it's too late" and not voted. It's OK to be late - the last two days have rattled many people.
