December Battle Results

At a time when everyone is posting their second battles for the month, I’m just getting around to posting the results from Dec 1.

I seem to be full of excuses lately. Here’s the latest one: When I shut down my computer on Nov 30, all was well in my world (okay, as well as it can be) When I woke up on Dec 1, my computer refused to start. It turns on, but that’s about it.

Thank Goodness, I had asked for a laptop for Christmas last year. Because there was no way I was going to do blogging from my phone. Unfortunately, I lost access to prepared graphics and other files I had kept on my desktop.  In many ways, I feel as though the universe had reached out and smacked me across the face and said - ‘You can do better! Start over!’*

And so I have been spending my time doing just that.

Okay, So how did this battle shake out?

For a hot minute, I thought it was going to be a shut out, but then my last 2 votes came in and saved the day!

Here are the results:

Trace Adkins with 5 votes

No Mercy with 2 votes

*There's an old Scottish tale about a young performer. When he finished his performance, everyone shouted 'Encore! Encore!' and the young man sang the song again. This happened three times.

He only really knew the one song... so after the third time, he says 'I'm sorry, I cannae sing any more'. And an old man from the back stood up and said 'You'll sing it again until you sing it aright!'

Singing us out is our winner …

Be sure to come back on the First for another battle. I haven’t got that one figured out yet, so it will be a surprise to us all.

  1. Mary,

I'm happy to know Trace Won this battle. He has such a warm voice. I'm glad you're picking up the pieces or recreating them with a fresh perspective. You may want to consider getting an external hard drive to keep the important stuff backed off. Years ago our Dell Desktop had a melt down and it was practically new. The hard drive just crashed. It was costly to get the data retrieved but I'm glad that we did. This taught us a valuable lesson. Needless to say, I have my Mac set to do Time Machine back ups and I do manual back-ups as well. I don't ever want a hardware failure to ever put us in that kind of panic again!

  2. Sorry to hear of your computer woes which is something I well understand. Mine crashes periodically but so far it has managed to keep coming back. I hope it holds out for a few more years.

Glad Trace won since that was my pick. It was a good Battle with a decent outcome.

    Merry Christmas!
