Rocktober 4th!
Today our song is: Cum On Feel The Noize by Slade
Wikipedia tells us this about the song:
Slade released "Cum On Feel the Noize" in February 1973 as their first single of the year. The song gave the band their fourth number one in the UK, and also their first single to enter number one in its first week. This achievement had not been seen since The Beatles' "Get Back" in 1969. The song remained there for four consecutive weeks and sold 500,000 copies in its first three weeks of release.
"Cum On Feel the Noize" detailed the atmosphere found at the band's concerts. Originally titled "Cum On Hear the Noize", Holder changed the title after recalling one of the band's 1972 UK concerts, where he "felt the sound of the crowd pounding in [his] chest". The song's introduction of Holder shouting "Baby, baby, baby" had just been a microphone test and was not intended for the finished recording.
Just a reminder that the songs that I am bringing to you this month are based on some survey from some website (I don’t even recall where, so don’t ask) They had fans respond with their favorite Rock tunes, and these are the top 31(ish) I say ish because I out-voted one or two that I didn’t agree with in their ranking. We’re working our way up to the Number One spot.
Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see what is next on the list! Feel free to join in the fun. The more the merrier, I say!
This would sure get you out of your seat - if you were sitting in the first place ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis was never a favourite of mine. I wonder how it could crack the top 31 when there is so much better out there. My opinion...:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Birgit and am surprised it's on the list - and ranked higher than SATISFACTION!? Oh well, music is subjective....
