Johnny Mathis
This month, Marie gets to choose our themes.
Marie is asking us to share a playlist of our favorite Johnny Mathis tunes.
This should be interesting to see what everyone chooses, as Mr Mathis has recorded 73 studio albums, 18 of which are Gold, and 6 are Platinum. He has 43 tunes that were on Billboard’s Hot 100 (6 of those made it to the Top 10), 32 tunes on the Easy Listening chart (19 made it to the Top 10, and 2 made it all the way to #1) Mr Mathis not only saw success in the US, but his tunes also did well on the UK Charts.
Okay, Marie wants to see our favorites. In this mix, I’ve included my all time favorite Johnny Mathis tune. Can you guess which one it is?

Very nice playlist you have built here. Great job by you.
ReplyDeleteMisty is just classic Mathis. Nice selections today.
ReplyDelete"What Will Mary Say?" That's my guess... Good list!
ReplyDeleteJohnny Mathis is one of the greats of the past century of musical history. Of your 5 choices my favorites would be between "Chances Are" and "Misty"--such classic songs.

I love your playlist. So many wonderful tunes today.
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteI think I'll ditto John's answer on your favorite song title. Your last two picks I don't think are repeats on the dance floor. "Chances Are" and "Misty" are getting quite the hits as you'd expect but I never tire of listening to "Chances Are". That's such a beautiful song! :)
Before I read the other comments, I thought "What Will My Mary Say". (I think the reason is kind of obvious, so surprise me and say we were wrong!) This was the only one of your set that I hadn't heard before. It's been nice listening to our playlists this week. I have to say, I'm not into his style of music but I love his voice and is it ever a romantic voice. 73 albums - wowza.
